The Follow Up to your Donation to the Water Tanks

I've not posted on this blog for about two years, but Jenny and I saw this as the easiest way to show you donors specifically what was done with the money you donated. I apologize for the delay, but life...
Here they are!

The words on the tanks read: "This tank was donated to Readingland Academy by friends of the school based in the USA on 3rd June 2019." That's you!

How cool is that?! With donations from family and friends through GoFundMe and outside of it, we were able to pay for the cement bases, attached gutters, and two 10,000 liter tanks, and whatever other necessary work, to collect and harvest rainwater for the school. Jane presented me with the receipts of it all, knowing that our trust in her and your trust in us was of utmost value as funds were shared.
It's hard to imagine schools without electricity or running water if it's not something you've witnessed. It's common across all of Kenya, and many other countries. Water, because of the infrastructure we have in the USA, is easy for us to take for granted.
Bondo sits a 30 minute drive from the largest fresh water lake in all of Africa, but there is no government infrastructure to bring water to the people. So, the people are left to fend for themselves, and many suffer.
As explained during our fundraising, these water tanks are the most cost effective way to store clean water in rural Africa. Thank you for your generosity and for sharing in our experience. We brought a lot of love with us from you all.

These tanks gifted to Readingland are treasured. Jane and her husband give glory to God for their answered prayers.
The students at Readingland Academy are hardworking and dedicated students. The drama team recently became the regional drama champions and they are currently on their way to compete in the national championship! They are the Readingland Pacesetters, and they are certainly setting an impressive pace.

It's an honor to have been part of giving this rural school a little more of what it needs to flourish.
So, again we say THANK YOU, "Friends of the school, based in the USA".

They said several times "Water is Life." Indeed it is.
