There was this poster up at the SMU tailgate, and we obviously couldn't pass it up.
My dad came to visit! Tessa had her fall break, so it was really great timing. When he arrived, we battled through traffic and headed over to the SMU tailgate dinner for law alumni.
On the way out, we stopped at the law quad's fancy center thing. Here are two statues:
The next night we took off to the Texas State Fair! Big Tex, who turned 60 this year, caught fire on this particular morning. What in the world?!? It was national news, and before the night was over, there were billboards along the freeway wishing a speedy recovery to Big Tex. Needless to say, he was missing from his usual spot when we arrived.
We always take a bunch of pictures in the petting zoo:
Cole had on a mustang face sticker from the tailgate. He wouldn't let me take that thing off for two days.
Tessa is wearing the hat Grampa won from the car show we had just come from.
Fishing at Bethany Lakes always ensures that the kids will catch fish --small fish.
Dad helped me paint the kitchen, which we've wanted to do for a long time. It's a happier place. Now I've just got one bathroom and my bedroom left. I let Tessa paint a wall before we got to it.
We're so glad Grandpa could take some time off to come and be with us. He was even able to watch Tessa's Primary Program while he was here. We had a lovely time with him and look forward to the next visit.
