That's it! Who taught the baby to do motor lips after every bite of prunes and rice cereal? I offered a dragonlike "Nooooooo!" after every splattering, but it didn't do any good except get me a scolding from the 3 year old about being nice. I told the boy it wasn't funny.
The look on his face made it apparent that he didn't believe me.

Hey, a similar thing happened to us last night. Julie was throwing food off her tray and I got mad and Anna told me to stop being mean to Julie. How do you teach a 3 year old the difference between being mean and scolding your child?
Start feeding Cole chocolate pudding instead of prunes and then it won't be so bad.
(Sorry about the deleted comment - I really need to learn how to spell.)
It is so hard not to react to that kind of thing. What I don't like is when they know they are getting a reaction and then keep on doing it or progressing to something worse. That is of course when they get a little bit older say like hmmmm...... Grace's age. She thinks it is so funny to throw food at her brothers or all over the floor. Sometimes she says "mommy, mommy" so I look at her and she takes a handful of whatever and throws it staring at me the whole time to see what my reaction is going to be. I love it, a lesson in patience I guess.
Krista -that would mean less chocolate pudding for me.
