If you know me very well at all, you know that Kenya is a place that is incredibly special to me (and the hubs). I have been blessed to go there three times in my life. I lose it emotionally every time June rolls around and I'm not going. There is a definite part of my heart that is devoted to the people of that country. ANYWAY, the reason for this post is that some of the best people I've ever known, World of Difference, is hosting a 5K run to raise money for this year's project, and if all I can do to help is make a few more people aware, then that's what I will do.
So, if you are a mover and a shaker, you've got time, you like being around great people, and you've got 15 bucks to share, this would be a perfect way to do it.
Here are the race details:
when: september 20th, 2008
where: fort utah park (200 N. Geneva Road, Provo, UT 84601)
what time: 8:30am
cost: $15
you can register online by visiting the website: http://www.makeaworldofdifference.org/5krun.html

Sigh. Melt. I love those pictures. I don't know how you could go to Kenya and not want to go back. What a special place. It is so great that you have been able to go three times! I want to take Don and someday our kids. That's cool that they are doing that race. I would love to run in it if I were there.
You truly are an amazing person. Your love for a land and people so far away is truly wonderful. Your passion for this cause is very clear and great. Thank you for sharing something so special to you. I want to do the walk for sure, but I think I'll donate, I'm not in the best shape to do a 5k, but I'm trying. I will soon!
Good for you, Maren! $15 is such a little bit to most of us and yet can have such a huge impact on people in need in other parts of the world. Thanks for the info. I may not be able to participate in the run, but I can certainly donate. And I will!
I love all of these pictures! It must have been an amazing experience. We got your sweet package in the mail yesterday, thank you so much! I love the dress and leggins'. We will make sure and see you guys when you come up!
Such a great cause. Sorry I missed the race, it was Addie's 3rd birthday. Had to celebrate her. I always love hearing about your Africa trips.
