The Jabberwocky

by Lewis Carroll

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!

"He took his vorpal sword in hand:
Long time the manxome foe he sought --
So rested he by the Tumtum tree,
And stood awhile in thought

And as in uffish thought he stood,
The Jabberwock, with eyes of flame,
Came whiffling through the tulgey wood,
And burbled as it came!

One, two! One, two! and through and through
The vorpal blade went snicker-snack!
He left it dead, and with its head
He went galumphing back.

"And has thou slain the Jabberwock?
Come to my arms, my beamish boy!
O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!"
He chortled in his joy.

'Twas brillig, and the slithy toves
Did gyre and gimble in the wabe:
All mimsy were the borogoves,
And the mome raths outgrabe.

She just goes on and on when dad gets home. This video is near the end of whatever story she was telling. I tried to keep the camera hidden because she'll stop talking when she sees it. She had been telling a story for at least a few minutes straight without any prompting at all.
Every now and then a recognizable word will come out in her jabbering, and it makes me wonder even more--what IS she talking about? I wish I knew.... and I wish I'd gotten a video clip a minute earlier. Oh well, you get the idea. :)

That was so cute. I love how she just picks up her drink when she's done. And then when Jake engaged her with questions and said the word "mommy"....you can just she her little eyes shift in your direction.

I've often wondered the same thing with Max when he is jabbering on about something and I just can't figure out what. It's so fun though, because the older they get the more and more you understand. Now I can usually figure out what he is talking about or trying to say.

Hey, Maren, she'll probably grow up to be a news reporter or the president. She's a great converser. This is a very fun post.

Jibber jabber away miss Tessa. Pretty sooon the words will be recognizeable and you'll wish she'd shut up rather than tell you where to go and how to get there. I have decided I need to stop reading the 8 books Adessa insists on before bed, she's too smart. Talks way too well for her age. Consequently she tells me off in a mad stream of vocabulary. Good Luck!

We finally got the video to work. What a cute little chatter box. I love when they rattle off like that, they know exactly what they are saying. Too cute!

That is the cutest thing. She is so adorable! I love that age, and I miss it so much. I can understand my kids now, and sometimes I wish it was still just jibber jabber!!!! Instead I get poopy jokes and tiger attacks.
